One of the most common questions I get from weight loss clients is can I speed up my fat loss? This is indeed possible but one of the challenges people face is that their bodies have become unresponsive to fat loss because of years of abuse, namely overeating and lack of exercise.
This article will outline how to use the Jump Start Diet strategy to prime your body for fat loss again.
The secret to the Jump Start lies with the carbohydrate intake. Many people have trained their bodies to use carbohydrates as the quickest form of energy. This is fine to some extent because carbs are a great source of energy, however in many people, especially those who lose weight slowly, the problem is that their bodies have been overfed carbs, therefore, whenever they are in need of energy their body cries out for carbs which we recognize as cravings.
In order to speed up your fat loss you need to remind your body that there are other sources of energy available besides carbohydrates. Now this takes a bit of coaxing at first because your body will not like being forced but soon it will become easy.
To follow the Jump Start Diet strategy you will want to eliminate refined carbs (cake, candy, cookies, processed or packaged foods) almost completely for 2 weeks. This will only be a challenge for the first 2 to 4 days then your body will settle into this routine.
Next, eliminate all carbohydrates from your meals and snacks after lunch. This includes fruit. Do this for the same two week period. If you think about it, what you are doing is forcing the body to create energy from foods other than carbs because the carbohydrates simply are not in the diet.
This makes your body turn to other food sources for energy but best of all, your body turns to body fat for energy. This is the beauty of the Jump Start, the body will make energy from what is available and if you limit the quick and easy carbohydrate energy source your body turns to burning body fat.
If you want to speed up your fat loss then take a two week period, eliminate all refined carbs and limit good carbs to only the morning hours. This will jump start your fat loss and prime your body for maximum weight loss.
