Would You Be With a Guy Who Was….?

Question by BMF: Would you be with a guy who was….?
diagnosed with a mild form of bi-polar disorder? His mother is bi-polar and left him when he was little. This traumatized him to the point where he has been seeing a therapist since he was 14 – he’s now almost 30. He has been to rehab for drug abuse, but has been clean for 8 years. He has only been in 1 serious relationship – 7 years ago. He keeps several boxes of photos and miscellaneous items from that relationship as if he’s not over her. I have known him since childhood and dated him briefly in high school, but he has always been very unpredictable and distant. We’ve been dating for about 2 months up until I told him I wanted to stop seeing other people and focus on our relationship. I asked him what he wanted and where we stood – he hasn’t called me back since. It’s only been a day, but I can’t help but wonder if this is someone I’ll never truly be happy with because of his mental state. What should I do?

i dated a bi polar guy…it can be alot to deal with, but thats not a good reason to not be with him. He has a problem just like most people
