Why Isn’t Alcohol Considered a Gateway Drug?

Question by Itstartshere27: Why isn’t alcohol considered a gateway drug?
It really doesn’t make sense to me to put a stigma on marijuana and say it is a “gateway” to harder drugs. Any logical person with any sort of decent reasoning would be able to understand that people are more likely to try other drugs when they are under the influence of alcohol. Alcohol lowers inhibitions which can really impair your judgment, while marijuana tends to make people think more about what they are doing. I believe they are complete opposites, just look at the way people act when they are drunk as opposed to smoking weed and you can judge for yourself. We are in the 21st century and it is unbelievable how naive people can be. I don’t think most people smoke cannabis and say, “I am not high enough I think ill snort some cocaine”. However you go to your local bar and ask someone who is impaired if they are down to do some cocaine and see what there answer will be.

For the same reason we say things like drugs and alcohol. Society has made them separate things when they are the same. It is propaganda.
