Question by hello: Why does abilify make me feel like i am on speed?
i like to feel speedy to get work done etc. but this is like REALLY speedy!
i cant sit down or stand still. i have to keep moving!!!
i am not even on that much yet. i cant sleep past 7am. it is weird!
i might quit. because it is making me gain weight, never mind the speedy feeling.

first how long have you been on abilify? if you have just started this medication the side effect of “speeding” (restlessness) should tapper off after a few weeks. i have been on abilify for over a year and i felt the same (couldn’t sit still, odd sleeping patterns) when i first started the medication. the only thing is with the weight gain is not going to go away. studies have proved that a person on abilify will gain right at 2.9 pounds each year. (that also depends on the person)
if these side effects become too bothersome i would contact you doctor and see if he/she can either lower the dose or try a different medication all together.
