There are already lots of drug rehabilitation programs that proliferate our society today. Why is it that there are people who are drug dependent who still need drug interventions? What does an intervention do anyway?

There are a lot of drug dependent individuals who find it hard to accept that they have a problem regarding their intake of drugs. This is one main obstacle that they have to overcome. A drug intervention is done to make these people realize that they have a problem regarding their substance abuse and thus help them to accept that they have to get themselves treated for their condition.
