Question by J.F. Archer: What medication is effective in alleviating alcohol withdraws and constant, extreme alcohol cravings?
My physicians will not give me any medications which may be addictive. I cannot even get medications for pain, no matter what the circumstances. No SSRI’s seem to work and produce only extreme aggressive behaviour. I am very wary of any and all meds due to damage which has been done in the past by incompetent physicians who believe that a patient is no more than a uncontrolled experiment.
I have been sober for a Year and 7 Months….

The only thing i know of that doctors prescribe for that kind of thing is anti depressants ssri’s or short term benzodiazepams. Perhaps try looking at some alternative therapy, tai chi or relaxation or something. If you can fix your own state of mind it will do more than any medication can
