Weight Gain After Heroin Addiction?
Question by 2redpits: weight gain after heroin addiction?
i was a heroin addict for a year and a half and stopped using 8.5 months ago. my normal weight was 120-125 at 5’8″, while on dope i dropped to about 110lbs., now that i’ve stopped i’m at 150lbs. i would like to be healthy (not super skinny), but the weight is all fat no muscle. can anyone reccomend a great diet/workout plan, or support group that can help me?
also recently sprained my knee and my ankle, so low impact if preferable.
please list resources, websites, etc.

First of all, when you quit drugs like heroin or stop smoking, your metabolism slows down. That’s why everyone gains weight. There are many good diets out there but I would recommend Weight Watchers. You deal with real food right from the beginning. Obese people, anorexic people and diabetics have success with this plan. As far as exercise goes, I would try swimming. It is low impact and a general workout. Good luck.
