VA hospitals help soldiers cope with drug battle
OKLAHOMA CITY — Army Specialist Chris Parish is coping with physical and mental scars, following a critical injury on the war front. Parish was riding in a military Humvee when it was struck by an I.E.D. or improvised explosive device. The combat veteran says, “Shrapnel sliced through my leg. The vehicle was on fire. If not for my friend pulling me out, I wouldn’t be here today.”
