Statistics – Sexual Abuse, Rape, Sexual Harassment, Etc.?
Question by Time: Statistics – Sexual Abuse, Rape, sexual harassment, etc.?
I would like to know if there are any websites that have statistics on Sexual abuse and rape, such as what type of person commits these crimes (random, people who have criminal records, drug dealers, family man/woman, etc.). I read somewhere that 23% of rape perpetrators are female, however only 88% of these women aren’t actually convicted, because they don’t believe the male. Also what is the rate that men are convicted vs. women with sexual assault cases in a workplace. I’ve read that with rape cases 90-80% of the rapists already know their victims and that the majority of their attacks are premeditated, does anyone know of a website that has numeric statistics for this information. Also i’ve read that rapists are in no way affected by their victims attire, whether their victim is wearing revealing clothing or not. However does anyone know of the statistics that one would be hit on or flirted with or “cat called” by wearing more revealing clothing? If anyone else has statistics on these topics, I would greatly appreciate it, thank you.

I live in Australia and here we use the Australian Bureau of Statistics or BOCSAR (Bureau of crime statistics and research) for these things. The rate of murder/assault/rape is actually more likely to occur at home or by someone who knew you rather than anything else. hopet his helps.
