Since the Meth Problem Is So Bad, Why Don’t They Just Take Ephedrene Off the Market?

The meth epidemic is horrible. But ephedrine (Sudafed), it’s main ingredient is still legal and over the counter. It’s not like anyone needs Sudafed to survive. Are the profits of drug companies more important than a drug which is destroying thousands of lives?
