Question by Joey: Question about opium pain killers?
Approximately how long does it take to become physically addicted to hydrocodone or oxycodone? If I take 10-20 Mg of Hydrocodone or oxycodone once or twice/week for breakthrough pain, what risk do I run of addiction. Non narcotic pain killers usually work for me so I do not take narcotics often.

Physical dependency can develop quickly if opioid pain killers are taken regularly. Is the oxycodone part of a long term pain management plan?
