Methamphetamine in the Home?
I’m a teacher who has just recently received information about the next class I have coming in. In my class I have a child who has two very eccentric parents. They have recently gone through an ugly divorce and both have somewhat “odd” personalities. Mom practices an uncommon pagan religion and dad is undergoing operations to become a woman. This boy often comes to school smelling like cat pee when he stays at his mom’s house. A couple of staff members have said they think this relates to her religion. Others have suggested that since we live in Iowa (meth central) that she or someone she lives with may be manufacturing meth in their home. Mom lives in the basement of another woman’s house with the child.
This boy has gone through so much that I would like to report his parents to the department of human services–but divorces, practicing strange religions, and sex changes do not qualify as abuse. What is the likelihood that methamphetamine is being manufactured in their home?
11B_gf: A cat urine smell is often associated with meth labs as meth can be extracted from urine–this is the cause for the concern.
