I Got a Possession of Controlled Substance Charge, Specifically Cocaine, Can I Still Enlist Into the Navy…?
I was Denied the Air Force, yet I am curious how possible the waiver is for the Navy. The charge is being dropped and expunged from my record pending an Accellerated Rehabilitation Program that I go through. It is Basically probation to not get into trouble for 12 months. Is the Navy unlikely to allow me in? Or will I more than likely have to enlist into the Marines or Army? The charge was a limited Misdemeanor that will indefinately be expunged as long as I have no Alcohol/Drug offenses during that 12 month period.
NONE OF THE CHARGES WERE FELONIES. THEY WERE SPECIFICALLY A LIMITED MISDEMEANOR.
Does anybody actuallly know any information. Not maybe’s or negative reactions. I will be going to MEP’s very soon, and I will find out if the waiver will be accepted then.
Martin M., thank you. Unfortuniately along with my charge I had Marijuana with me. My recruiter suggests that I just mention the one drug charge, Marijuana, and not the Cocaine. And see if it pops up. The cocaine charge is not on my record, only pending. So pretty much if i mess up the probation it will be brought up. If my recruiter does suggest this, should I just go along with what he says?
