Gardner asks for life, says he’s a changed man
“I’m really remorseful for what I did,” Ronnie Lee Gardner said, asking the Utah Board of Pardons and Parole to halt his pending execution next week and give him a new sentence of life without parole. In a five hour hearing on Thursday, Gardner said he has changed since his days of escaping from prison and killing.
