Appeals Court Presents New Hurdles In Smoker Suits
Florida smokers or their survivors who’ve file lawsuits against cigarette companies have new hurdles to clear as they make their way to trial. On Thursday an 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals’ decision could sharply limit whether juries must accept as fact in each case that tobacco companies sold dangerous products and hid smoking risks from the public.
