County hopes bike ride will help curb addiction
LANCASTER — Community leaders hope a charity bike ride will start chipping away at the county’s ever-increasing drug addiction epidemic. The Tour de Cause bike ride, which will be July 17, aims to raise money for drug awareness, education and treatment programs in Lancaster and Fairfield County.

Prescription Drug Take Back Day flushes out unwanted medications

NEWARK — The 60-and-older population of Licking County survived wars where strangers became trusted friends and a handshake was a binding contract. Those same values leave them vulnerable to scams, abuse and neglect, said Sally Smith, supervisor of supportive services at the Licking County Department of Job and Family Services.
