DON’T DISS DONOVAN!! (Or “the Amphetamine Trip Goes On”)

Just a cute little medley I threw together to entertain myself. But, there’s NO WAY one song wasn’t at least subliminally influenced by the other. LEGENDARY session bassist Carol Kaye has taken credit for coming up with this bass line (among other things.) I once brought up the subject in a conversation with her – with the intention of calling her out on it – but she blew me off saying “We were all JAZZ CATS! We never listened to pop or rock. We hated it.” (Probably why to this day “jazz cats” rub me the wrong way. SNOBS! ;^)
