Question by haha1000: Do you think I have any chance of getting approved Social Security Disability Insurance because I have a past?

I have applied for Social Security Disablity Insurance about 2 months ago. I have a history of drug and alcohol abuse. I have been clean and sober since December 5, 2009. This is what had happened. I was self mediciating using pills and drugs for my mental and physical illnesses.
In August of 2009 I finally came clean and got some help from a physciatrist. I was put on a drug called Suboxone to help with the cravings for the narcotics. In December I relapsed but for only a week. I put myself through a 5 day detox and I have been clean and sober ever since. Do you think that I will be denied Social Security Disablity Benefits because of my past history?
Also, I told my counselor that I had a couple of beers at a wedding that I attended. Do you think that Social Security Disablity Insurance people are going to look down at that? I shoiuldn’t have told her that but I did.
What’s gonna happen if I get denied? Will I ever get approved? I”ve been clean since December. Alcohol was never really my problem……. Drugs were.

i receive disability payments… and i have a pretty extreme past drug history… it has never affected my claims…
