Do You Know Drugs That Act to Decrease Either the Number of Dopamine Transporters or Decrease Its Activity?
Question by rebecca2008: do you know drugs that act to decrease either the number of dopamine transporters or decrease its activity?
I think I have too many dopamine transporters (DAT) because I have ADD inattentive type.
I know that cocaine acts to slow the transport of dopamine through DAT (but obviously this is an illegal drug so that means I can’t take it).
Amphetamine acts to reduce the number of DAT.

So I guess I need Amphetamine (adderall or dexedrine).
Are there other drugs that have the same results (either decrease the number of DAT or decrease the transport of dopamine through the DAT)?

Wellbutrin! That is its specific action, and its structurally similar to cocaine. It is used to reat add as well as depression.
