Can You Change Like Non Electronic Crank Windows in a Car to Electronic?

Question by babayjay: Can you change like non electronic crank windows in a car to electronic?
It’s my first car and I was dumb when I bought it not really looking at all of the features. I know crappy on my part, but I’m just wondering if I can change the crank windows to electronic ones and what the prices would be to do this. If it’s possible. It’s a 2000 chevy caviler.

It is possible but you have to find out if your car has the appropriate wiring loom going to the ecu, this can be checked by inspecting the wiring plug going into the car door

once you have acknowledged that your car does have the appropriate wiring loom for the upgrade you will need to get the door cards with switches, wiring loom, regulators, mechanism and fuses all which can be found at your local scrappy or on ebay

some riveting may be required and usually takes 40 mins a door

even if your car doesn’t have the appropriate wiring loom for the upgrade you can always buy additional leads to wiring it up to the ecu behind the dash, but this will be time consuming.
