Can a Pharmasist Potentially Give “D-Amphetamine Salt Combo” for Ritalin Prescription and Adderal Prescription?
Question by MrRyan: Can a pharmasist potentially give “d-amphetamine salt combo” for ritalin prescription and adderal prescription?
About a year ago I was prescribed to take ritalin, when I took to pharmacy, they gave me the generic brand…and on the label it said…”d-amphetamine salt combo” 10 mg.
I had to stop taking it b/c I was hallucinating and I felt like crap…..the doctor said it was psychosis, and that some people negatively react to the drug.
I recently given a new prescription…the doctor said to try ritalin, when the pharmacist gave me generic version…….the bottle said “d-amphetamine salt combo”.
Is it possible for a pharmacist to give patients what “they (the pharmasist) believe” is ritalin or adderal?

Both rx’s were for ritalin? If you perhaps mistyped and meant one was for adderall, then I can understand a little better.
I was prescribed adderall and was given the generic form in salt combo. It is legitimate and legal. I have read that there is a difference with the generic form and name brand form with both ritalin and adderall. It will be quite a bit more expensive to get the name brand but if it makes a big difference for you, then maybe it is worth it.
