‘Hotline To Heaven’ was Bananarama’s 11th single and the fourth to be taken from their 2nd album ‘Bananarama’ The hot topic was drug addiction and despite the polished video directed by Jonathan Gershfield where the girls appear as angels, the single only reached #58 in the UK top 100, not bad but not as successful as previous singles. The album was darker in theme, tone and lyrics and to most fans and critics showcased an improved and more mature Bananarama.
