Alcohol Action
Tx 3 Sep 2009 A group of New Zealand medical researchers wants alcohol to be reclassified, under the Misuse of Drugs Act, as Class B-One, or High-Risk. The researchers work in the field of addiction treatment. And theyve based their opinion on the results of a comparison between the effects of alcohol and the drug GHB, or Fantasy. The group is called Alcohol Action New Zealand, and theyre about to present a series of public lectures throughout the country on what they call ten things the alcohol industry wont tell you about alcohol. Spokesman for the group is Professor Doug Sellman, a psychiatrist at the National Addiction Centre in Christchurch and he spoke to Allan Lee.
